Studies show as early as second grade, girls are discouraged from subjects in school like math. Girls often hear that “math is for boys” and “reading is for girls.”

These ideas limit potential, career options, achievement and motivation. When girls don’t feel confident and supported in pursuing careers in science and technology, it has serious economic impacts, like the gender wage gap which has an even greater effect on families and communities.

At Girls Rock Math we are here to close that gap and ensure that all girls feel empowered to pursue math and STEM topics as a career path.

Between the ages of 7 and 12, the girls we serve are eager to learn, grow and take on the world. They are bright, capable, adventurous, curious and strong. Girls Rock Math provides thought-provoking, creative camp experiences in math and science, empowering girls to develop confidence in their skills and a lifelong interest in math. Girls Rock Math reinforces that math is fun and imaginative – because it is!

Girls Rock Math camps ignite an interest in math through engaging themes that integrate art, songs, games, and stories. Our camps not only inspire greater interest in science and math but they build confidence and essential leadership skills. Our vision and goal at Girls Rock Math is to ensure every girl walks away from camp energized, empowered and more confident than ever to raise her hand.

If a girl is discouraged from math and science as early as second grade, she loses interest for STEM. If she loses interest in STEM, she undercuts her future leadership and earning potential. When we limit girls’ potential and access to the world of STEM, we limit her ability to contribute her ideas and change the world.
