Middle School Camps

At Girls R.O.C.K. Leadership Camp you will develop R.O.C.K leadership skills. This stands for Responsible, Outspoken, Creative and Kind. You will have guidance and support from staff in helping out with camp, being a role model for young campers, and building confidence. You will have multiple opportunities to practice and reflect on these skills within the camp setting while also having fun!

We feel that two weeks is just the right amount of time to really get a full experience from the program. One week of camp goes by in a blur! We have found that because of the large learning curve in transitioning to the CIT program, often participants feel most successful partway through the first week. Participating in 2 weeks will allow CITs to feel strong and confident entering their second week, providing an even better experience the second week. Additionally, the Leadership Facilitator will be leading the CITs through a program that includes lessons and reflections on leadership and their camp experience. This curriculum will include higher levels of support in the first week, then will hand more responsibility off to the CITs for the second week, allowing them to get more opportunities for practice in developing these skills.

Our Girls R.O.C.K. Leadership Curriculum is on a two-year cycle, and is designed for participants to attend during both their 7th and 8th grade year. If your Leadership Camper is now an 8th grader, they may apply to be a Counselor through our Teen Leadership Program.

If you participated in the CIT program last summer, fill out the application and we will begin the process to schedule you. In most cases, you will not need to submit references or complete another interview.

If you’re new to our program that’s ok too! We’d love to have you participate so you can experience the fun of Girls Rock Math and hopefully become a counselor in high school!

A parent/guardian will apply online and provide two references with the initial application.

Then, our Director of Learning will check the references provided and reach out to applicants to schedule phone or zoom interviews. After these steps are completed, if selected, the future Leadership Camper will be given a schedule based on the preferences indicated on the application (location, dates, etc.) and training dates. After your session is scheduled, the parent/guardian will receive a link to officially register for Girls R.O.C.K. Leadership Camp, pay for camp and sign waivers.
